Gabion quality checkout procedure
wire inspection:
Before weaving mesh, materials must meet the test standard 
1)tensile strength is 350-575 N / mm2, conform to South Africa's SANS675: 1997 standard.
2) scalability: greater than or equal to 10%, conform to European standards 10223-3, the test samples were greater than or equal to 25 cm.
3) zinc coating : galvanized steel wire ring surround central axis 6 circles , repeat. 4 times ,conform to sans675: 1997 standard. If there is no zinc precipitation , it does not wrinkle, without shedding phenomenon.
4) scalability: when test, wire winding each other as rate 15 per minute, and then in the opposite direction with the same winding speed, as well as the original layer of galvanized wire will not rupture. It conform to SANS675: 1997 standard. Gabion fasten with tie wire, all tie wire use heavy galvanized or stainless steel wire, with specialized tools (a simple tool) operating. General binding wirediameter is 3 mm, tensile strength is156-178 kg / mm.

1) All steel wires tensile strength is greater than or equal to 515mpa.
2) elongation: testing samples is 30 cm long, and at least elongation is greater than or equal to 12%
3) galvanized wire size error and galvanized coating request in the following table.

Installation requirement
1) gabion mesh will be placed on a stable surface to unfold, pressing the extra crease.  
2)Fix front and behind sheet ,bottom sheet and partition sheet into a certain place , formed box shape .
3)The four corners of adjacent cage group is connected with double strand wire. Upper and lower frame wire or fold wire is fixed by screw wires
4)Place several empty gabion mesh in flat ground and join together . If has sublayer mesh box group, binding adjacent bottom wire frame of upper mesh box group
it must tie surface frame wire of sublayer mesh box group with mesh panel. Use screw wire to fix ,in order to join together .
5)fill proper stone into gabion, the stones must keep balance in gabion
6) Put stone into gabion mesh reasonably with leaving mininum space ,the stone is greater than or equal to 1.70 t/m3
7) after filled with stone , need to install diaphragm as a whole, and then overlap one another like this.
8) Before lay diaphragm and binding diaphragm , need to install mesh lid .
Maintenance
Gabion use life depends on mesh quality, stone durability and filler stability.
After galvanization or PVC coating treatment, the gabion retaining wall is different from other retaining wall, as it is not subject to chemical corrosion.
During the installation process, review the plastic coating, maybe has some damage because of external factors. From surface damage signs and  test data ,show that the damage is only partial and provisional .It will not lead to whole gabion collapse. When design of steel mesh screen ,there is no need to consider the overall structure affordability .Local damage will not affect the overall affordability.
Gabion protection structure is installed under its gravity. Gabion weight will gradually increase, at the same time unfilling space will be reduced. When installed in the soft ground, can be installed more in order to strengthen the protection effect. Gabion structure can allow vegetation growth , so as to maintain ecological integrity.
