What is Shaker Screens

Introduction

Shaker screens are the main solids separation tool on rigs. After returning to the well surface the used drilling fluid flows directly to the shale shakers where it begins to be processed.

Once processed by the shale shakers the drilling fluid is deposited into the mud tanks where other solid control equipment begin to remove the finer solids from it.

Shaker screen is one part of drilling equipment used in coal cleaning, mining, oil and gas drilling etc. These screens are considered to be the first stage of solids control. They are used for purifying the liquid by removing large solids from the drilling fluid.
