Aluminum

Aluminum is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery-white, soft, nonmagnetic, ductile metal.

It is a good thermal and electrical conductor, having 59% the conductivity of copper, both thermal and electrical, while having only 30% of copper density.

It can be used to produce structural parts with specific performance, such as gasket and capacitors made of aluminum and foil, mesh, protective cover for wires, cables, wire core, airplane ventilation system parts and decorative items.

Aluminum Alloy

Aluminium alloys are alloys in which aluminium is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc.

About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.

Selecting the right alloy for a given application entails considerations of its tensile strength, density, ductility, formability, workability, weldability, and corrosion resistance.
